Burlynomicon - A Darkly Decadent Burlesque Revue happens every second Tuesday of the month at The Coffin Club in Portland, Oregon.
We hire 4 performers a month, with a local badass to feature at the end of each show.
Being that our home venue is a goth club, we keep the acts darker, more metal, more subversive in nature.
If you're interested in applying, please also keep the following in mind...
- have 3+ years of consistent performance experience
- darker acts don't necessarily mean sad! Comedic acts are welcome, but still need to fit in the theme of the show. Same goes for classic acts...there's been some incredible darkly decadent classic burlesque performers on our stage!
- if you haven't been to a Burlynomicon before, we HIGHLY encourage you to check out a show before you apply to see if it is the right fit for you. Let us know when you are coming and that you'll be there to check it out in hopes of performing at it, and we'll put you on the list!
- We encourage almost all types of subversive art, yet at this time we cannot accommodate fire or aerial...and bodily fluids are a no at this point.
- There are no tolerance of acts or behavior that promotes or depicts racism, bigotry, hatred, misogyny, fatphobia, transphobia, violence towards animals, etc...we will not allow your act if it depicts anything close to that and you will be cut from the show. We've never had to do that, and want to continue to not.
